– Provide consultancy to Charterers’ export team in establishing procedures and best practices for handling its import and export cargos, including but not limited to:
- Appointing agents, surveyors, freight forwarders and stevedores
- Safe cargo handling
- Vessel acceptance procedures
- Insurance
– Provide the Charterer with up to date market information
– Familiarize itself with particulars of carriage of Charterer’s cargos
– Within reasonable time from receipt of request for quotation from the Charterer, obtain rate quotations from ocean carriers
– Negotiate charter party terms and conditions in best interest of the Charterer
– Perform review of Charterer’s sales and purchase contracts and ensure compliance of terms of such contracts with terms of charter parties
– Conclude charter parties with authority from the Charterer
– Perform post-fixture functions, including preparing fixture recaps and original documents, verifying freight statement, tracing payments
– Oversee vessel operations if required by the Charterer and assist Charterer’s export team
– Verify laytime calculations and negotiate demurrage/dispatch claims
– Appoint surveyors, stevedores, agents and other contractors if requested by the Charterer
– Handle cargo insurance
– Handle claims arising out of ocean carriage
– Perform other related services that may from time to time be requested by the Charterer
